MISSION
Mission
The mission of Providence Christian Academy is to assist parents in the covenantal education of their children. We instruct students from a biblical perspective, within a confessionally Reformed and classical framework, teaching them to exalt Christ by pursuing truth, beauty, and goodness.
For additional clarity and detail regarding PCA’s mission, please read the following supplemental statements:
-
Assisting Parents. Parents have the God-given responsibility to train and instruct their children. Providence assists parents in this endeavor by providing an education that reflects our shared Christian worldview.
-
Covenantal Education. The work of Providence is a response to God’s promise to be a God to parents and their children. We recognize each student as a member of God’s covenant family.
-
Biblical Perspective. At Providence, all teaching is shaped by the foundational authority of God’s written Word, as expressed in our motto verse: “In your light, we see light” Psalm 36:9.
-
Confessionally Reformed. Providence affirms the historic confessional documents of the Reformation – the Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, Canons of Dort, and Westminster Standards – as accurate summaries of biblical doctrine.
-
Classical. Providence uses a classical method, featuring the integrated study of the liberal arts and sciences. Providence seeks to foster a learning environment of joy and wonder, tailoring instruction to the natural inclinations of children at different stages of their development.
-
Christ. Providence provides a Christ-centered education. We aim not merely to impart information, but to form students as whole persons who love Jesus Christ and glorify him with their hearts, souls, and minds.
-
Pursuing Truth, Beauty, and Goodness. Providence equips students for the life-long pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness as they serve Christ and their neighbors in their vocations.
